The Giving Plate

This summer Thursday is service day.  I have a few ideas of what I want to do for service projects.  They have to be things we do at home, because I babysit three kids on Thursdays (which brings my total to 9, it's almost criminal!).

This is our first service project this Thursday.  I made two of these giving plates.  We will be making goodies to go on the plates and then later in the day we will deliver the plates to the people we want to deliver them to.  It will be fun.

I got this idea from Adventures of an Orthodox Mom website.  Here's the link.  I wrote on the plate with a black sharpie and then cooked it.  If you're going to try this I recommend cooking the plate at 450 degrees for 30 minutes then leaving it in the oven to cool to make it permanent.

These are the cookies we will be making.  They are super cute and taste like those super rich sugar cookies you can get at the store.  In-other-words very bad for you, but tasty!

I got the recipe for these from the website Make Ahead Meals for Busy Moms.  Here's the link.

It should be fun!
