Our family is going screen free for one month! For the whole month of December we will not use the computer, the iPad, the iPod, or watch TV. It started out as a joke, and then my husband and I decided to actually try it. We had to hammer out the details, because this is serious stuff. Now, you're asking, how can you be blogging if you are not allowed to use the computer. That's one of the details we had to arrange. My husband does lots of work at home and I do lots of important communication by e-mail, so we made a rule that Mom and Dad can use the computer for "business" between the hours of 5 AM and 6:30 AM. Right now it's 5:39 AM. Yup, that's early. I am answering e-mails, printing things I will need this week, and yes, sharing my experience with a screen free month.
One other exception is that I use my iPad to listen to Christmas music. That was deemed acceptable, because it's being used as a radio not a screen.
